It seems like Nintendo can't decide whether or not the Wii games will be region free, because now they suddenly aren't anymore.
Earlier today, we reported that according to Perrin Kaplan, Nintendo of America's Vice President of Marketing and Affairs, games for the Nintendo Wii would be region free, but apparently she have misunderstood something, because now Nintendo UK's General Manager David Yarnton tells IGN that games and online content for the Wii will be region-encoded.
So right now I don't know if you should trust the American Vice President or the British General Manager, but if the games are region-encoded, that means that people from Europe can't play Japanese or American games and vica-versa, which is really sad, especially after Perrin Kaplan got our hopes up.
Hopefully Nintendo will announce something officially soon, so stay tuned for further updates.

Very crap. I want to play the Japanese games that never come here. A freeloader or the like better become available quicky!
