Retail distributor lets it slip in latest press release - adventure fans go wild

Point and click adventure fans should prepare to get very animated indeed – it would appear that everyone’s favourite crime-busting animal duo Sam and Max are coming to the Wii.

For those of you that don’t know, Sam and Max are a detective dog and psychopathic rabbit respectively. Created by Steve Purcell in 1987, they found worldwide fame thanks to the sublime Lucasarts ‘point and click’ adventure Sam and Max Hit The Road, which appeared on PCs in 1993. More recently they’ve starred in a new series of episodic PC games which have been especially well-received by fans.

The series is produced by TellTales Games and distributed by European company JoWood, the latter of which appeared to let slip that a Wii instalment of Sam and Max’s zany antics is in the pipeline:

JoWood plans to adapt their successful licensed adventure titles for consoles, one of which is Sam and Max, which will soon be brought to the Wii.
