Out Today - Sonic Unleashed

Sonic gets angry, you wouldn't like him when he's angry.

Sonic gets angry, you wouldn't like him when he's angry.

We didn't know he was leashed, but Sonic is finally Unleashed, ready to stop Dr Eggman one more time!

Sonic Unleashed will launch players on a revolutionary high-speed adventure through a world torn by chaos. Powered by the all-new “Hedgehog Engine,” Sonic Unleashed merges classic Sonic gameplay with the latest in next-generation innovation. It launches players on a journey across the globe and merges blistering 2D action with picturesque 3D environments. Sonic Unleashed delivers an expansive world with seamless 3D to 2D transitions and branching pathways, as well as dynamic viewpoints and a series of enhanced speed mechanics to help Sonic navigate the world.

We got our copy earlier this week and we're busy play testing it, expect a full and frank review by the end of the weekend. Will the double dose of Hedgehog and Warehog really work? We'll tell you!

For those that simply can't wait, the game has been released across Europe today, the 28th, and was released last week across North America.

This has a lot of potential. I am interested to hear several reviews on this.

Sega need to remove the gimmicks. If werehog-Sonic didn't exist, this could have been awesome

I bought this today and I have to agree with Gametrailers review of it. IT'S BRILLIANT :)

The Wii version doesn't use the Hedgehog Engine sadly, it looks like a modified Secret Rings engine to be honest, but could be an all-new Dimps-developed engine. Anyway, I enjoyed it but I have to say it isn't up to the standard of the 360 and PS3 versions, and I have to say the werehog bits were nowhere near as bad as I feared. They're still not brilliant, but it helps to think of them as Ristar revisited :)

If anyone is interested in picking this up, Gamestation have the Wii version for half-price this week - £17.49 brand new! That's amazing!

Not sure why it's a little more expensive online but it doesn't matter when there's 253 Gamestation stores nationwide! It's £17.49 in-store - trust me ;)

It dies ages ago - and every now and then, a burst of new stories appear almost all at once.

Sadly everyone involved with this site also has other commitments that mean we can't just 'down tools' and post loads of content on a daily basis. HOWEVER, we've looking into ways of getting the site moving again in '09, so watch this space...

Yeah, we all died :) Christmas proceedings got in the way! Like Damo says, we'll be trying to get things more consistent next year - we need some new staff for the news =/

I'd like to post more but at the moment I'm in the middle of a marathon series of daily blog posts collating the 50 greatest Sega games of all time!

I'm definitely on-board for next year's rise to prominence, though!
