Just as we were gearing ourselves up not to see Muramasa: The Demon Blade nestling in our European Wiis until April next year, Rising Star Games swoop to the rescue by letting us know it is confirmed for a release on November 13th, just six short weeks away.
We've already reviewed it based on the US version but that doesn't mean we'll be stopping the coverage - quite the opposite! We plan to get you even more Muramasa information so that you're fully clued-up by the time it hits European shop shelves next month, so make sure you keep it locked on Nintendo Life over the coming weeks to see exactly what we have in store!

Man, that's another game I want. It's gonna be a expensive winter.
Me too, me too...
All the good games seem to be getting released at the same time, for the holidays no doubt, but it is a bit annoying though, wish they where spread out a bit more.
This game has sexy graphics, but I think I'll wait for it in the markdown bin after the review said the gameplay was flawed.
Thanks for your support for this game!
Is that the same review that also called it gorgeous and engrossing, and gave it an 8/10?
Really looking forward to giving this one a go. This is exactly the sort of thing I love so it should be a real treat. Hurry up November 13th!
I highly recommend renting this.
The two characters is a gimmick, they have the exact same movesets. The branching sword tree is a gimmick - because it's limited by your story advancement, you'll always have enough materials to just make the next 3-4 swords available after each story point. The special attacks are a gimmick - quite a few of them are useless and most of them are significantly weaker than normal attacks. The story is also forgetable.
While it's fun to hack and slash for a few hours, this game is a very poor follow-up to Odin Sphere.
Too bad there's no way to rent Wii games here. Anyway, this is one game that I want to buy and I'm glad we didn't have to wait until 2010 to get it.
This game is incredible and I honestly shake my head at the reviews that say 8/10. All of the things that people criticise are precisely the design choices which make it the best 2d hack-n-slash of the decade. More RPG crap would ruin this game. It's extremely replayable as it is, and the sword tree is perfect. This is not an RPG, or even an "action RPG". It is an action game with some RPG elements that make it easier at first. Turn on shura mode and it plays more like a 2d fighter.
I have spent 11 hours in 4 days playing this game, which for a guy with a job and a family means lack of sleep. This game is totally awesome, I can't get enough of it, and I urge you to check it out. Just remember: it's an action game, not an RPG.
Will definitely give this one a go.
How to "rent" at Gamestop
-Get a USED game
-play it
return it within 7 days and get all your money back for it
I'm pretty sure thats how it works but you may want to check with Gamestop before actually doing it.
I would have pre-ordered this from GAME, but it still bloody isn't listed!!!!
And always nice to see someone from Rising Star here in the comments!
This game is glorious. Please buy it if you enjoy any of the following: Japanese games, old-school 2D games, video games.
Already on my pre-order list, cannot wait.
