All three games for one cheap price
We've already seen Dragon's Lair on DSiWare and it seems Digital Leisure and Destineer aren't ready to give up on Dirk the Daring, as they're combining to bring all three titles in the series to Wii in one package.
Cleverly titled Dragon's Lair Trilogy, the game includes the original game, Dragon's Lair 2: Time Warp and Space Ace, which isn't a true sequel as it doesn't feature Dirk the Daring, but is a welcome bonus nonetheless.
With new features including a widescreen option, beginner modes and even a feature that lets you watch the animation without actually needing to press anything, Dragon's Lair Trilogy is on the way to Wii this Fall for $29.99.
Experience the fantasy adventures that became a cultural phenomenon! Game publisher Destineer today announces a partnership with Digital Leisure Inc. to develop Dragon’s Lair Trilogy, bringing three timeless arcade adventures together on one disc for Wii™: Dragon’s Lair, Dragon’s Lair 2: Time Warp, and Space Ace. For the first time ever on a console platform, you can experience the stunning visuals and engaging storylines from all three of these classic arcade games created by legendary American animator Don Bluth. Lead on brave adventurer, your quest awaits!
An instant hit in its 1983 debut, Dragon’s Lair is one of the most beloved arcade games of all time. As valiant knight Dirk the Daring, immerse yourself in a fantasy adventure on a quest to rescue Princess Daphne from the clutches of an evil dragon. You control the actions of the daring adventurer, finding your way through the castle of a dark wizard, who has enchanted it with treacherous monsters and obstacles.
Straight off the success of Dragon’s Lair, Don Bluth and his creative team began working on a galactic adventure known as Space Ace! In Space Ace you play the heroic Ace who must stop the evil Commander Borf from taking over the Earth! Only two people have the courage and strength to stop Borf and save Earth: the beautiful Kimberly and Ace. But as they approach Borf’s stronghold, Ace is hit by the Infanto Ray, changing him into a child, and Kimberly is kidnapped by the evil madman! The fate of Earth is in your hands!
In the sequel to the smash-hit, Dragon’s Lair 2: Time Warp allows you to once again play the heroic Dirk the Daring, who must stop the Evil Wizard Mordroc as he has kidnapped Princess Daphne and taken her through time! But you must hurry, for once the Casket of Doom has opened, Mordroc will place the Death Ring upon Daphne's finger in marriage and she will be lost forever… in the Time Warp!
Features:
Completely arcade authentic
Original arcade gameplay modes
Remastered animation
Both standard and widescreen editions
All-new move guides for beginners
Watch Mode - View all of the stunning animation without playing!

i'm actually looking forward to this. as long as the port is good, it'll be in my collection. i have enjoyed Dragon's Lair 3D (which is said to be the worst), and since that's been the only Dragon's Lair i've been able to play, i'm eager to try the better, FMV games.

Well, $30 for the three games in one disc is great and the price is good enough for my purchase. Was about to get it on DSiware but now I'll wait.

Cool, i guess i'll finally get around to buying a version of these games; need to have them in my collection if only on principle. Was going to pick up the interactive DVD versions a while back but just never did.

@Popyman: you are one good kid!
And you make me feel old, too, since I played this in the arcade in '83 and then at home on the Colecovision. I'll probably have to get this one...

Why aren't these (or the whole package) WiiWare titles? I think they would sell much better as 800 point downloads.

Long ago I happened to have a CDi of all things, ended up getting both Dragon's Lair and Space Ace with it. I never was or could get particularly great at either, but the best I ever did was like 1/2 the DL1 game and probably nothing into Space Ace really. As far as I got in Space Ace was you had the opening, the crusher and rock slide, bouncing around a bit, then this area in your little ship going up/down in chutes, and then something just beyond that and I'd die in there after off the ship.
Funny thing is I can see myself buying this because ti has beginner mode showing you what to press, but you still need to learn the timings, and also you got WATCH MODE so finally I can just watch the game play out like a normal cartoon and that's so worth it as they're Don Bluth pieces of magic.

I can't wait for this to come out. I'm saving my money just for this game.

Its not an especially cheap price considering that's how much the dvd/blu ray versions have sold for.
However, beginner and watch mode sound cool and new. The controls were always frustrating so beginner mode should help.

I think I'll get these when they come down in price - they seem kind of expensive for what are, essentially, terrible games. I like the novelty of them, though, so if the price is right I'm sold.

insta buy
had dragons lair on 3DO and also played it on pc way back when sound blaster and prince of persia first appeared
good clean fun - also kind of a gaming genre of its own

$30 is a decent price, but it is probably something I won't buy right away. I remember seeing Dragon's Lair at the local arcade when I was little, so the nostalgia with this one is quite strong. "Watch Mode" is a great addition if you just feel like watching a cartoon.

Looks interesting. And for $30, it'll drop down to maybe even $15 after a couple of months. Definitely worth it.

I'll more than likely get this. I just hope this will have Classic controller support. That way I can use a Hori stick
