Following on from the surprise reveal not long ago, Steve, Alex, Zombie and Enderman from Minecraft are now all available in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. This second character in the Fighters Pass 2 comes with a new stage known as Minecraft World and adds seven additional songs to the game.
If you have already purchased the second Fighters Pass, it's simply a matter of updating your copy of the game. Otherwise, you can purchase the character in a standalone pack for $5.99 / £5.39.
Minecraft's representatives have been made available alongside Version 9.0.0. This contains balance adjustments, fixes certain issues to improve the gameplay experience and also adds new Mii Fighter Outfits. Some of these costumes include Travis Touchdown and even the one and only Bomberman.

Yep, they're here, and they are pretty amazing in the worst way.
Steve can pull off some goofy shenanigans.
I'm sorry but...Creep--- (gunshot is heard from a distance)
About damn time Minecraft got represented in Smash honestly. There is literally no timeline where the most successful game of all time doesn't get represented in the most successful fighting game of all time, that features a roster of the most celebrated characters in video game history and Byleth & Min Min.
@TheFrenchiestFry Someone's salty lol
...Though in all seriousness, I was rooting for Min Min and even I have no idea how she actually got in.
@TheFrenchiestFry I raise you Wii Fit Trainer. Wii Fit Trainer.
@nessisonett You joke about WFT but moms turned into gamers that day so she had an impact on the gaming industry in some way. Whether it was for the best or worst is debatable, but it's certainly more than I can say for MIN MIN
@link3710 I'll give them this, I flat out just didn't expect ARMS to get a fighter at all after the game got repped through both an assist trophy and a Mii costume, which were based off the two fighters that were front and center of all the promo material no less
Time to download the update. Probably mess around with Steve for bit to see how the character plays and then decide if I want to main him.
@TheFrenchiestFry I'm with you its about F***ing time!
@TheFrenchiestFry
Lmao Three Houses sold more than Persona 5 in less time just saying. XD
Not interested in this character whatsoever, but I'm happy for those that wanted this. I already got a character from my favorite game (Byleth), so I don't care who gets added at this point.
@JR150 I mean you ain't wrong, but I'm pretty sure Persona as a whole has outsold the Fire Emblem series in its entirety worldwide to begin with so it's more than deserving of being here
You don't just end up outselling your whole parent franchise and not get some respect points for that
@nessisonett As someone that enjoy playing as Wii Fit Trainer I have to say....yeah you're right. She took me a while to get the hang off but I really like how she plays.
Also, Steve's pretty fun. His spike is hella OP tho.
@TheFrenchiestFry
That's mostly due to the spin-offs, though. If we're talking solely the main series titles, Fire Emblem games outsell Persona games almost consistently. If it wasn't for things like Arena and Dancing games, no one would care.
You also have to consider that everyone everywhere that has played Fire Emblem knows and loves at least one Fire Emblem game (the most popular ones being Awakening, Radiant Dawn, the remakes, and Three Houses). Meanwhile Persona only really got popular because of 5. Nobody cares about the first two while 3 and 4 are still pretty niche.
I'm just saying that Fire Emblem is probably equal in popularity to Persona at worst. So lumping Byleth with Min Min (a character from an actually unpopular game) when Byleth's game sold more than Joker's is pretty wack, lol.
@JR150 I don't like the fire emblem series at all and know plenty of other people with zero interest in them. I don't know what you talking about that EVERYONE EVERYWHERE has a fave one. I know few people in real life playing them. I know one guy whose been playing 3 houses. That's its.
@Kirby_Girl
I meant "everyone that has played the Fire Emblem series" has at least one favorite game out of the numerous Fire Emblem games. The comparison is that a vast majority of Persona fans have played 5 and only 5. Which means Fire Emblem has more presence as a franchise. Which makes Byleth far more relevant than Min Min could ever hope to be.
Sorry if that wasn't clear.
Meh.
Nothing more to say, but screw NL's letter usage requirement.
@JR150 I see. Very well.
@JR150 no when you combine p5 and P5royal sales. P5 royal is the better game.
Yeah, I hate Byleth's inclussion and I bought 3 houses 🤷♂️
All i want is Crash and/or Rayman and i’ll be set..
Maybe Shadow too 🥺 Idk what’s so hard about it just copy all of Sonic’s moves and add some dark element to it 😭
@Fulgor_Astral
I'm not counting P5R. That's just a re-release of the same game. Three Houses has no such re-release so it's not fair to compare it.

https://personacentral.com/persona-5-sales-worldwide-december-2019/
Persona 5 released on September 15, 2016 and sold 3 million copies by December of 2019. Just over three years.
Three Houses released July 29th, 2019 and sold 2.87 million copies by March of 2020. Eight months. (And is probably at 3 million by now).
Which game is better is completely opinion and irrelevant to my argument. The fact is that FE Three Houses outsold Persona 5 in terms of speed by an extreme margin. Keep in mind, P5 is a PS4 game which has a much larger install base (100 million) vs the Switch's install base (50 million). And yet the Switch exclusive sold more than the PS4 one.
I'm just saying that calling Byleth as irrelevant as Min Min (which is what Frenchiestfry did) is completely foolish given that almost no one talks about ARMS itself anymore but everyone still talks about Three Houses.
@Eddiezus
No clones can be DLC. I'm actually hoping for Tails since he's been with Sonic since day 1 and can make use of a lot of different gadgets for his moves. Shadow isn't really a good Sonic character to represent the series if you ask me.
Probably not for me, but after seeing this, maybe cool for fans of the game. Just didn't seem like the world's mesh
@TheFrenchiestFry big fan of both series but googled it (just quick first results search not deep research or anything) and FE beats Persona by about 3million.
@TheFrenchiestFry
Cry harder about Min Min, manchild. If you haven't stopped after three months you clearly never will.
Apparently crashes the game a lot.
@TheFrenchiestFry
I was super happy when Byleth got in. Three Houses in the best Fire Emblem in my opinion. I think the over-saturation comes from all the Echo fighters... (looking at you Chrom and Lucina...)
@TheFrenchiestFry Whats with all the steve hate coming from ppl I love steve and I don't think min min should have been a fighter but ppl will hate just like I hate min min so idk why they need to get mad when you talk trash about her.
Gave him a go.
The stage is rather nice, but just doesn't feel to me that the character fits in. At least not yet.
Maybe if it requires rebuilding the whole game, that's a sign.
a reddit user by the name of u/-BunsenBurn- just found a CRAZY bug with Steve in smash. #steve #SmashBrosUltimate

I'm not personally that excited for steve myself but happy for people that wanted it and cant say minecraftdoesn'tdeserve a presence. Like I think people need to realise not every smash fighter choice is based solely on what they like or want. Going be some you're super into and some less so
I always download the update, check out the new stage, beat up the new fighter with my boy Ike and then go into waiting mode for the next character, haha.
I've seen some videos now, and I kind of hate it. His jerky and wierd movement really clashes
@TheFrenchiestFry @JR150 Calling ARMS “unpopular” isn’t accurate. The game sold over 2 million copies, which is quite impressive, given that it was a brand new IP and a fighting game (a genre that doesn’t historically sell in huge numbers) and it released on a console with a relatively small install base at the time. That’s a quarter of a million more than the original Kid Icarus and nearly double what Kid Icarus Uprising sold (and that game got three representatives in Smash). The only F-Zero game that outsold ARMS was the SNES original and none of the later entries managed to get close to 2 million. Heck, Earthbound barely managed to sell 140,000 copies. What seems to be the problem here is you personally didn’t like ARMS, but if we’re going based on sales success (i.e. “popularity”), Min Min deserves a spot here more more than Pit, Ness and several others in the roster. But that’s not how it works. This is a crossover game about Nintendo‘s legacy (with selected guest characters) and not a popularity contest.
@Divinebovine His weird movement clashes? The same can be said about Mr. Game & Watch.
