The latest trailer for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity has appeared, showing off yet another character who will make the leap from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Yes, Hestu, the giant, maraca-playing Korok, will appear in the new title. Interestingly, Hestu has been granted a super high-pitched, overly excitable voice that we wouldn't necessarily have imagined, but we're happy to see the character here regardless.
That's not all that's shown, of course, as Link, Zelda and the champions can all be seen gliding into battle and being their usual, epic selves. The trailer is the third of a series of clips – the first two showed off Breath of the Wild's Robbie and Purah, and the Yiga Clan.
The 20th November can't come soon enough, huh?

Inb4 he becomes playable and tosses golden poop everywhere.
And that's how he lost all of them from his maracas and you have to find them all 100 years later.
Never played a warriors game but this game keeps looking better and better! It would be kinda nice though if they made a pre-release demo so I can get a feel for the gameplay. That's probably the only thing that has kept me from pre-ordering it yet.
Everything I've seen has gotten me hyped for this game.
October 6th, October 13th, October 19th. Hmm, I wonder if something like a Partner Showcase is happening tomorrow given these weekly Age of Calamity videos were on Tuesdays before this week and this time it's on a Monday.
Anyway I wonder what the reward for finding all the Koroks this time is.
Maybe my memory is terrible, but the voice sounds appropriate based on what I remember Hestu sounding like in BOTW. Heck, I would of been more disturbed if Hestu had a deep voice.
@Grumblevolcano After what the first game gave you, I'm not sure if I want to know.
Well it's pretty similar to his voice in BOTW, except that he now says words.
@Yosher Oh heck, that moment when you realise that Hestu is the Age of Calamity equivalent to Tingle.
His gameplay should definitely be rhythm based. I would love to see Cadence if they do decide to do rhythm based combat.
Funny, I'm usually not a fan of English voice acting but my first reaction to hearing Hetsu in this trailer was "that's actually pretty good".
Bring on playable Hestu!
I was more surprised to see Daruk using a glider at the end...
Squee!! Yahaha!!! I live for this game!!
Can’t wait to hear the Japanese track.
The way cutscenes start with the flashback effect makes me think that it would be pretty sweet if Nintendo made a DLC version of Age of Calamity where you can transition to the various battles directly from Breath of the Wild at special Flashback points.
I'm so in! I hope he's playable! Come on Nintendo of America just release the goddamn pre-purchase in Brazil already, I WANT to give you my money but you're not letting me!
@Grumblevolcano Good catch! Let's hope so Could use a little news on Doom Eternal or Bravely Default II
My favorite is master khoga's voice acting. I think it's a really fun voice. In fact, all of them are pretty good, I'm actually struggling to understand why people hated it so much. The only one that I didn't like is Zelda's, felt kind of fake. I don't know, seems kind of petty to get so annoyed over it.
The voice is similar to Hestu in Breath of the Wild. I see no problem with it. The only voice that felt out of place so far in Breath of the Wild is Yunobo. Didn't sound like a Goron to me. Hestu will be a fun character to play as, even if he doesn't get story missions.
One month to go. This has me very excited!
Ultamite attack! Poop Storm!
Dang the way they release this steady stream of trailers, I'm impressed with Nintendo's strategy here. Keeping the game in discussion. And if these untold chronicles characters are playable (there are predictions that the Yiga guys may be playable like The previous HW), that means a huge roster already.
@Ryu_Niiyama
I just looked up the Jpn version trailer and Hestu's voice sounds the same high-pitched "squee."
Really, his (their?) voice doesn't surprise me as I seem to recall it sounding like that in BOTW.
Still super hyped for this musou game! I don't know how I'll find time to play this and keep going with ACNH and other games, though.
The way she used magnesis, I wanna see that in Breath of the Wild 2 or something similar. Maybe it could be an upgrade from a nice long hard dungeon.
@theiRiS You should pick up Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition. It's a really fun, action-packed game and will give you an idea of how Age of Calamity will play.
I'm concerned for the bokoblins, etc that gaze upon Zelda's Remote Bomb robot XD
@theiRiS but you should be warned... even though it’s fun the first couple of hours ... it’s all show and no soul. It becomes reeeeaaaally repetitive. I mean .... really repetitive and grindy.
Sooo all the characters are voice-acted this time? I also heard master Kohga speak, that's also a first I think. Expect a big "golden turd" move with Hestu though, lol (if he's playable).
@DoomGuyBFG @fafonio I think I'll wait for Age of Calamity, the backstory alone has me mostly sold.
@theiRiS I've played several and put in some real hours. DW2-5, All versions of SW except SW4 and it's variations and it can definitely get old quick if you overdo it which is why I haven't even played the first Hyrule Warriors. But that's the kicker, although I'm worn out on Musou games I'm 100% day 1 on this one! 🤣
@ToadBrigade
He had voice acting in BOTW, he just didnt have much to say. The tone matches what was in the main game tho.
I loved the first one on Wii U, so i'm getting this on release.
I cannot, CANNOT, understate how excited I am for this game. Not only that, but I also cannot understate how excited I am for what this game represents for the franchise. Between Cadence and HW, Nintendo are clearly getting more experimental with how games in the franchise get made, while maturing in their commitment to storytelling as shown by the existence of a prequel and sequel to BotW. It's an extraordinary time to be a Zelda fan, and the future looks bright 😁
@ARM1384 me too, I love Daruk’s comedy glider at the end. Surely that thing should be at least twice the size!
@IronMan30 The only thing I'm worried about is it's a hack n slash game so the focus will be so much on that we won't be able to see the forest for it's trees. No?
@Jacob1092 Reminder this is NOT a regular Zelda game. Just so you know what your getting yourself into. THIS IS A HACK N SLASH GAME!!!! Think a more lame version of Assassin's Creed.
@DoomGuyBFG Pretty lame actually. Link destroying hordes in one swing!..............Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight! This is reminding me of Lord of The Rings Conquest Horror show. I really want to like this game but the LOTR Conquest has jaded me.
Honestly first of all why that voice second of all It seems kinda the same of a game so call Ohh I dont know seems like all battle place
@Olddantrucker I can understand that. I had Dynasty Warriors for the PSP and I really didn't like it. However, I picked up Hyrule Warriors anyway and actually enjoyed it. It is frantic and action-packed, and you have to plan your attack, because there are multiple objectives on the field and you have to pay attention to them all. I had a blast playing through it and will be picking up this new one.
@DoomGuyBFG Didn't look like much planning to me. The bad guys kept taking hit after hit just standing there! I think they were high on bananas? Though I wonder how they will do different objectives. Lord of the Rings Conquest also had different objectives.. It was a failed attempt at an open world combat game that fell short mostly due to being too 'arcade' like at the controls and it was too fast pace of a game for what it was trying to represent.
Here is a detailed review of Conquest which touches interesting points both good and bad. This video is only 10 mins so gets to the points pretty quick. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWKyLuij0kc&t=321s When Pandemic Took Us To Middle-earth (LOTR Conquest Retro Review)
I really like the concept of playing as the 'evil' side but you can do that anyways on Battle For Middle Earth. A funny thing is you can play against your own team! Mordor vs Mordor! You have to be sure to give them different team colors as they are hard to tell apart on the map if you do that.
