If you just can't get enough of Princess Zelda's Princess-Diana-but-sad voice in Breath of the Wild, then get ready to start the game over again, because this Reddit user just found some extra dialogue that you'll only see if you do the story out of order.
The first quest you get after leaving the Great Plateau is to find Impa, but if you visit the Divine Beasts before you visit Impa in Kakariko Village, Princess Z will use her mysterious telepathic pager to inform you about the Beasts' whole infected-by-Ganon deal instead.
But wait, there's more! Since you so cruelly ignored Impa, she gets new dialogue, too — something to the effect of "well I GUESS you didn't need my help".
For your first playthrough (or only playthrough) of Breath of the Wild, you probably did things in the order you were told, at least at the start — but on subsequent runs, especially speedruns, it's probably quite easy to find this "hidden" dialogue.
Plus, it's not the only alternative dialogue you can get — there's also one for skipping Prince Sidon on your way to Zora's Domain, although we can't imagine why you would:
This game has been out for over four years, and we're still finding new things.
Have you seen this cutscene, or any other "secret" ones? Let us know in the comments!

This game is incredible.
I never defeated Ganon in the end, even though I made it that far. I just couldn't bring myself to end the game just yet.
One day...
I did see that dialogue when i was playing the game. I did everything that could be done in the game except those Yahaha koroks, couldn't fathom it to collect the 900 ones. This is the only Zelda game that i couldn't wait to finish it as fast as i could, most boring Zelda game that i have played. Not saying the game is bad, it doesn't connect to me as one of those Zelda games that you cant wait to see which gadget you would get next. The whole shrine thing was a snooze fest. Other than that, piloting the divine beast was the most fun part in the game at least for me.
This is so cool! Can't wait to see the lil secrets we're finding years from now in its sequel!
Haha, Impa gets salty when you don't come see her first. Now that's attention to detail.
I discovered the Sidon one through curiosity back when the game was new but the others I did not know
hmmm on my next playtrough, I'm going to try this route.
@Jack_Goetz I was like that with Morrowind, played for years without beating it. Then they released Oblivion and I played the main quest, finally. Probably one of the best quest lines I’ve ever played in gaming.
I got both those messages.
I never follow the path they expect you to, why be so predictable.
I want to see if I can break these games, that's what adventuring is all about, or am I doing it wrong, oh well.
😜
Well, excuuuuusssse me Impa!
I bought a switch just for this game and put maybe 8 hours into it... It's just really not that great. But then again I had played a ton of Genshin Impact before trying BoTW, so I guess I was spoiled by the better..well...everything that game had to offer.
@DoubleDate Yeah, it's funny because I actually found Skyward Sword one of the most fun Zelda games to play through, the one many people say is too linear and like a handful of levels, and it's precisely because I basically knew where I was going and what I was doing most of the time and could just get into it and make my way through the story and adventure until I finally won the day. For me, that kind of old school level-based structure is always more fun than just roaming around some open world to be honest.
I did not go to Kakariko Village until very late in the game
Sheesh, stage 5 clinger much.
I enjoyed the fact that there was hidden dialogue for avoiding Sidon. I've gotten that dialogue every time after my first playthrough.
After playing 40 hours of Skyward Sword, it's amazing to go back into Breath of the Wild.
I usually skip Sidon on my way to Zora's domain. I normally go the back way via Lanayru Road. It's a really cool area.
@UglyCasanova Hey guys, I found the troll.
@UglyCasanova
You mean all the things it ripped off of BotW?
Or are you referring to its copious microtransations and gatchagame mechanics?
Or perhaps you're referring to the ridiculous fanservice?
Or maybe instead you're referring to the games' entirely different genre of party-based console roleplaying game?
@noobish_hat Yep, was gonna say something similar. Not as bad as Luke's "English" accent in Layton, that's a tragic attempt, but Zelda's accent doesn't quite sound fully English, or perhaps like someone from England who's lived in North America a long time. It certainly sounds nothing like Diana's accent which was very upper class whereas Zelda is a pretty average middle class accent.
@DoubleDate
Most boring Zelda game and you couldn't wait to finish it as fast as possible? But you still did (almost) everything possible in the game? This seems kinda insane, to be honest. 🤨
@UglyCasanova
Lol, you prefer Genshin Impact to BotW? Well, I suppose you have a right to an opinion, even though it's in the minority.
@Jack_Goetz if it makes you feel any better, defeating Ganon doesn't end the game (same as with all other Zelda games).
I played for quite a while after defeating Ganon (did the DLC post-ganon plus a lot of exploring on my bike)
Hard to fathom that some people didn't like BOTW. It shows me how different inside people can really be.
For me it's waaaaaaay better than any other zelda game, and better than almost all other games period.
I've played through every zelda game multiple times minus the spin offs and i still can't quite say i agree with what seems like 95% of the population calling BOTW the best zelda ever made. I'm not sure what it is that keeps it from being my all time favorite. It is very good. I just don't like alot of things about it.
The breakable weapons that seem to break way too easily or at the worst possible times. The constant rain everytime you try to climb a mountain and the whole trying to turn zelda into Assassins creed thing. I also miss the elaborate dungeons. I mean come on this massive game only has four actual dungeons? The shrines are okay but i want more dungeons. At least 8 or 9 like Ocarina of time.
Oh my gosh, they really did think pretty much all scenarios in this game!
@impurekind Me too. I also hate side quests.
"We must hurry, before the bad guy takes over the castle!"
Sure dude, but first let me clean these fields, find someone's lost pet, spend some quality time fishing at the pond, gamble for 3 days straight in a gambling den and visit this optional town for some high level grinding before we get to that. Also, let me spend the night at this inn for another week.
Breaks immersion for me.
kinda feel sorry for people that think BotW is the greatest game ever of even a great Zelda game.
If you don't talk to Impa until after you free the four divine beasts, she says "You... You have already found them. Yes, I can feel their power emanating from you even now. Ha! It would seem I had no cause to worry after all."
Well excuuuuuuse me princess
I watched my wife play and totally finish this game in 2017-18 so I never did finish my own file. But I just started the game over after about 2 years away, and it reminded me why I liked the switch so much. What great timing to learn about tricks that require you to start over.
I’m unlocked ganon but can’t bring myself to finish it, (because I don’t want this amazing game to end!) and still finding new things after over 190 hours. My favourite part was finding the forgotten temple, and having to take out approximately 10 guardians just to see what was hidden there
I think I recall seeing that scene when I played cause I was playing all over the game not in a linear way.
NOT AS CHARMING, SIDON! I DONT HEAR ANY GIRLS SCREAMING
I haven't ever seen that dialogue. I've probably played 400 hours of this game and still am not tired of it. I play it every week, still. Such a masterpiece of programming, design, music, gameplay, etc.
I actually didn't know how I was supposed to get into Zora's domain on my first playthrough and skipped Sidon and didn't even realize it.
It still amazes me four years later the amount of freedom the player is given in this game. I don't think its been matched in that aspect my any other game. (except maybe Minecraft.)
@BongoBongo Yeah, I now the game just throws you back to the castle when you defeat him, but as soon as I've beat the last boss in pretty much any game that's pretty much where I stop playing. It took me two years to finish Twilight Princess for the same reason. 😅
