A man has been arrested after attempting to sell Pokémon cards back to the very same trading card store he robbed just one month prior.
On August 9th, 2022, shortly before midnight, a trading card store in Bellingham, Washington, reported that around $20,000 worth of Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering cards had been stolen after the suspect - Myles Vaughn Pajnogac - had entered the premises by smashing through the front door.
Rather bizarrely, however, the suspect then later returned to the very same store and attempted to sell the merchandise back to the owners. A store employee reportedly recognised Pajnogac and confronted him regarding the theft, however Pajnogac became hostile and said “I’ll rob you again (expletive)".
Pajnogac abruptly left the store, but left the stolen goods on the counter, after which the store owners were able to identify them as the very same cards Pajnogac had previously stolen. After providing photographic evidence to the Bellingham Police Department, Pajnogac was subsequently arrested and booked on suspicion of first-degree malicious mischief, second-degree burglary, first-degree theft, second-degree possession of stolen property, and first-degree trafficking. He has since been released on his own recognizance.
Police found fentanyl and methamphetamine in Pajnogac's possession along with more stolen Pokémon cards. It's now been reported that around $8,000 worth of the stolen goods have been successfully recovered. It's a start, at least!

An adult man got blinded by Pokemon cards.
How ironic as a human being.
Too much obsessions will hurt your life.
@Anti-Matter Just a wild guess here but I’d say his obsession with fentanyl and methamphetamines hurt his life more than his obsession with Pokémon cards.
Anyone who watched the film Heat knows that's a bad plan. De Niro tried to sell the bearer bonds back to the guy he stole them from and it didn't end well for anyone
If you're stealing Pokemon Cards, it's already implied that you're making bad life decisions.
The guy should be listed in World's Dumbest Criminals. He would've stole (pun intended) the number one spot! Lol😂
On a serious note, hopefully 1. The punishment fits the crime, and 2. This guy gets the help he needs. Those are some dangerous substances to be involved with.
I really don't understand the guys logic. But people have done even dumber things.
Good job catching him
If he really is a drug abuser it could explain his poor choices. When suffering from withdrawals (or fearing they will hit soon) the person will turn to making quick money to buy, or steal, the substance they need, this is usually concomitant to very poor judgement.
He's obviously not the brightest bulb in the box, is he?
I didn’t know ‘malicious mischief’ was a charge.
@BlueCoolYoshi
Scheme, scheme, plot plot!
Yeah, gonna need a new set of light bulbs for that idea.
What a plonker, go straight to jail and do not pass pokemon go. See kids, one good reason not to do drugs!
That's drugs for you. Humans with no inhibitions or common sense only existing to feed the beast are tragically stupid.
Sucks that he is out and can continue to break the law.
he was obviously influenced by those drugs
Was he high? Did he forget where he stole the cards from? Did he think the victims had forgotten? Or did he really think that it somehow wouldn't raise suspicion to try and sell stolen merchandise back to the people he stole it from? One of those "This is so crazy, it just has to work!" moments?
next thing he'll probably do is steal the shoes off someone's feet and try to sell them back to them....
I stole my own house then sold it back to myself. I didn’t make any money, but at least I didn’t get arrested. That makes me less stupid than… someone, probably.
He probably didn't watch Cartoon All-Stars To The Rescue.
I love how the police let back out onto the streets a thief and meth head....
He will do it again...
And the Darwin Award goes to...
They knew he was the suspect? Did he just think they forgot? AND THEN HE LEFT THEM THERE? Lol
