There's been some positive news for Nintendo in Japan with the 3DS reclaiming top spot in the Hardware charts, according to Media Create weekly sales charts. The 3DS sold 58,837 units to seize the crown, an increase on the previous week: with no major new releases on the handheld last week it is a reasonably impressive showing. It could be argued that the modest bump in sales is a positive reaction to the Tokyo 3DS press conference on 13th September, with a number of high profile game announcements made. Whatever the reason, it is a welcome boost for the company.
There was also success for software on the Wii, with Dragon Quest Collection, a bundle of the first three Dragon Quest titles, storming to the top of the charts. Rhythm Heaven on the Wii remains in the top five, with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Super Pokémon Rumble being the only representatives for the 3DS in the top 20.

wow, OoT3D still in top ten software titles, impressive!!!
You go Nintendo! Keep it up!
I notice Wii Sports Resort is still top five also. The Wii is still going strong, and I'm impressed.
praise be take us to the promised land
Wow, just goes to show how much those Japanese love RPGs.
Wow, the ps2 selling better than the 360. That's kinda shocking considering it's a past generation.
Considering theese numbers it's quite curious why investors are panicking so much and suggesting that Nintendo should stop making hardware. And I constantly hear from gamers in my area that "3DS is dying"... Except it's not.
This is why Nintendo always has and always will keep raising the bar.
Really glad my favorite title is hanging in there at number 20!
Great for the big N. Hopefully they'll keep it up with a solid release of software titles and no big dry periods without games, like the Wii got.
If they just have a steady flow of software they'll be fine.
lol at the 7 people who bought a PSP go
Once MH3G comes out...BOOM look at all those empty 3DS sections
LOL 7 people bought a PSP Go. XD
Seriously, glad to see the 3DS is selling. It's had/having a rocky start. But if anyone can pull through a rocky start on a console, it'll be Nintendo.
Awww, no love for SF643D? :< Poor Fox...
@LuigiSmash98: Not really. Microsoft consoles have never big sellers in Japan.
Pokemon Black & White: final sales=5,308,519 copies.
That was all I saw.
The PSP Go is actually up from 2 to 7. XD
Man, I want Dragon Quest Collection. Classic DQ titles are just ignored outside Japan. And I guess would continue to be, with the Wii VC in drought mode, I guess until Wii U's release. Sometimes it royally sucks not to be a Japanese (or, these days, European) gamer.
Also: Winnie the Pooh 100 Acre Forest Cookbook? Would say that's an odd entry, except I LOVE Pooh and company! Japanese have good taste. Or not. Can't imagine eating Woozle cheeseburgers or BBQ Heffalump!
Ha! Take that, PS3! XD
Well, it looks like the DS Lite is losing popularity. It's becoming old anyway! Why have a DS that doesn't have internet, a shop, or other stuff like that? Oh, and by the way, THE 3DS RULES!!!!
Haha MH Diary is that high xD
I should import it
I saw the first months of the ds, ds lite and unfortunately, I can say that's low sales for the 3DS. BUT there will be a new mario, mario kart 7 and other games which will be released next year. Hopefully, it will increase its sales.
Go Nintendo, go-go-go! (122 years!?!)
since the price cut, 3DS is the best selling game device in the world!
ALSO it reached the 5 million mark FASTER than 360 and PS3 did.
(fact!)
Whoever says it's a failure, can go to his corner and cry bitter tears.

Go 3DS! Man they sell systems like CRAZY. I want Ocarina of Time 3D on the top of the chart!
I bet those announced at pre-TGS had to do something with it.
