We're big fans of Kirby: Planet Robobot, the 3DS sequel that ups the ante on its original and introduces clever ideas to a classic formula. Since its launch it appears to have had a reasonable sales start in the UK, too, securing chart placings similar to its predecessor - Kirby: Triple Deluxe.
It its first week Planet Robobot has secured 15th in the all-format UK chart, 14th in the single-format list - Triple Deluxe did similarly in 2014, grabbing 9th in the single format chart but 16th in the all-format results. It's clear that Kirby isn't the most notable Nintendo franchise in the UK market, but we'll see whether it can hold a top 40 spot for a decent number of weeks.
One title hanging tough is Yo-kai Watch, which is the only other Nintendo system exclusive in the UK top 40; it climbed three places up to 36th in the all-format charts.
Aside from that the UK charts still make grim reading for Nintendo, with a minimal presence in the top 40.

Sorry, Kirbs - it's not that I don't want you, but you're gonna have to wait a while for me.
Just picked up the game. I'm really enjoying it and it might be one of my favorite Kirby games out there. Nice soundtrack too.
I'd probably have got this if not for the recent surge of PS4 games. I remember Triple Deluxe dipped under £20 pretty quick, but many places were selling this for £25 to start.
You're right, it does make for grim reading. But that's what's it's like for Nintendo every week.
I have no money, so this willl have to wait. If the reviews weren't so good, I would avoid it like the last few.
Once exams are over and I've finished this backlog of games (fire emblem fates all 3, star fox zero, uncharted 1-4, Zelda twilight HD etc...) I'll be sure to pick this up! I'll have over 10 weeks off to get it haha. Yo-kai watch is an absolute champ I seriously though it was gonna sink by now but no, still clinging on!
I wonder what the 3ds owners are doing because they are not playing their 3ds's in any great numbers.
Kirby is pretty great, I am enjoying it more than Triple Deluxe.
Of course it wouldn't have great starting success because of E3 being this week (I too skipped it because of E3). I have high expectations for even better things like more MK8 DLC!
I bought it Day 1 and I HIGHLY recommend it. I see why some are saving their money for (potential) discounts and surprises, but Planet Robobot is one of my favorite Kirby games and just an all-around good time.
I've not picked it up yet... but I do plan on getting it eventually. I'm happy to see it chart.
@zool Well I know that between Humble Bundle and the recent anniversary discounts, I have tons of download games. I think the target audience of the 3DS don't tend to buy most games instantly on release and sales come over time at birthdays etc. I bet lifetime sales for most non-sucky first party 3ds games (Stell Diver and Pilotwings, looking at you) are healthily high.
Tbh, what is NoE playing at? Nothing for ages. Then Pokken followed a month or so later by Star Fox and Yo-kai Watch. And then suddenly, over £80 of Fire Emblem, Tokyo Mirage Sessions and Kirby all coincide at the start of summer when I bet they share a lot of the userbase. Foolish.
I bought it with the intention of sharing with my daughter. She is now playing on the second world, and it still isn't my turn
Happy to see Yo-Kai Watch clinging on! Will hopefully pick up Kirby once I've finished Yo-Kai Watch.
Anyone know how we can get hold of French and German sales figures? I know we use chart-track.co.uk for the UK but frankly im more interested in seeing the rest of Europe.
Sadly I don't have a 3DS. I'd love it if Nintendo would do duel releases for Wii U and 3DS, there's no reason not to anymore.
