Around the same time EA announced EA Play Live would be returning this year, physical distributor Limited Run Games confirmed its own E3-style presentation would be back.
Yes, the LRG3 show will be streamed on Twitch on 14th June. The same tweet also seemingly confirms LucasFilm Games: Zombies Ate My Neighbours and Ghoul Patrol will also be receiving a physical release. You can read more about this two-in-one release in our post from yesterday.
Last year's Limited Run E3 live stream revealed more than 30 physical games - and many of them were for the Switch. Fingers crossed this year's show is just as action-packed.
Will you be tuning in to this live stream? If you would like to see who will be participating at the main E3 event this year, be sure to check out our E3 guide.

Oh cool! Let’s get some news on the contra collection!
NINJA APPROVED
Better have the announcement of Calculator for physical.
@Paraka Bundled with Microsoft Paint, been waiting for that collection.
@BloodNinja - Only if they get those cloud saves.
@Paraka Heh 😀
I’ll look forward to hearing about LRG’s upcoming plans, as basically they’re my fave publisher lately!
Releasing Zombies Ate My Neighbors physically only endears them further! I still have my original SNES cart for that (one of a very few that have survived the decades with me) but newer media will be nice backup.
Hopefully they’ll announce a Blaster Master Zero Trilogy Collection on one cart like what Japan is getting this summer.
@BloodNinja
Contra Collection release news would be welcome too! 👍🏼
@BloodNinja Don't forget the greatest game of all time, Minesweeper.
Booooo, more normal retail releases from bigger publishers!
Looking forward to it. I like me some physical games ^_^
@Paraka a physical bundle of Calculator, Paint and Minesweeper with cloud save, online multiplayer and battle royale will be the greatest killer app of all time. I predict at least 100 million copies sold.
@BloodNinja There’s always the collection on Game Boy Color, alas no MS Paint. https://archive.org/details/microsoft_gbc
Nice.
I have bought a fair few games from them lately.
Still waiting for my Astro City Mini.
Let's hope they announce faster delivery times.
@Nin10dood Astro Mini's have shipped. I got it about 7 days ago
I stopped giving them money once they started offering "Signed" game soundtrack LPs which weren't actually signed. They were vanilla LPs that came with a card signed by the composer. They took a year to deliver and they wouldn't offer refunds.
Everyday Today's Menu for Emiya Family would be
a great get with it being digital only and for the cute cover art.
@aunaste I was hoping for touchscreen support, I want my abhorrent paint creations to touch my finger tips.
@Nerdfather1 I'll leave Minesweeper in your capable hands! I could never figure it out!
@Teksetter Indeed!!
@stuntz0rZ
I'm still waiting.
Seems like an eternity.
@Teksetter Releasing a BM Zero Trilogy would be such a punch to the gut for those that coughed up cash for their releases of BM Zero 1 and 2...I'm fairly certain they'll do BM Zero 3, but I wouldn't expect the Trilogy pack that Japan is getting...
God, I wish I'd held on a bit longer and got that instead...Oh well, at least I only got the standard editions and not the CEs...the vinyl boxset will be more of an eyesore, if they release the OST to the third game, since there's no way you can fit that in the same box...
I stopped buying from them because of the huge wait between payment and getting the actual game.
Panzer Dragoon Zwei Remake please.
My Shantae games shipped exactly 1 month ago and still haven't arrived. Getting worried now.
Gave up on LRG a long long time ago. Not worth the stress and long wait times for release.
LRG, make the switch carts first (2000 or whatever). THEN announce the game for preorder for a couple weeks then send it out. This whole announcing the Switch cart game, taking preordered then releasing it nearly 6 months after. Hard Pass.
Doom Eternal physical to close the show or bust.
I fail to see the infatuation people have with this company.
They charge way over the odds for indy games whilst creating a scarcity which encourages scalpers.
If you miss the pre order window or can't afford it at the time good luck finding a copy later on for a fair price.
@Mr-Fuggles777 It depends on what kind of Switch owner you are and how much you care about collecting for the platform. I guarantee I'll be more excited for whatever LRG announce rather than Nintendo themselves during E3.
@Mach_Rider
I feel your pain and do apologize for touching a nerve! Although I held off on picking up the BM Zero 1 & 2 standard editions last year, it was a close call and I very nearly was in your same situation. I think I only resisted buying because I heard here that Inti Creates was probably going to make a 3rd game, so maybe a "trilogy pack" would be a thing.
Depending on what LRG says at E3, I may just go for the Japan release.
LRG is great as a boutique for physical games we otherwise never would get, but it's true it takes months after purchase to actually get the games. You have to be so patient!
I hope we can get more Ys games. More Falcom games in general really.
@Mr-Fuggles777 - Most collectors are prepared for announcements. Those caught off guard still have a month to scrounge up what they can on average for each preorder.
Creating an abundance just ensures Lost money for many of these games. Looking at reported sales of each of the Switch shipments, the highest has been 15k.
Really doubt making a million surplus is going to be a benefit for the company if that's all it ever generates.
@Magician I don't really care about collecting at all, I've only got about 30 physical switch games and I only have those because they were cheaper than buying them digitally, or ports I've bought pre owned to stop my money going to Nintendo.
@Paraka I'm more of a spontaneous consumer and tend to buy stuff as it appeals to me or grabs my attention.
I dislike having to plan pre orders and budget for stuff I have to wait ages for. That £50 is a game or two I can play today, which isn't an issue but I can't buy these games when they are actually released!!
@Mr-Fuggles777 - Well, you have that knowledge today. So what you do with it is up to you personally. Other companies will not adjust and hold things that 15k is the best they can do a month in, especially when your biggest sales is that following weekend.
So godspeed on budgets, cause I focus on these types myself. Only got NSMBUD recently because of it.
Are they gonna announce that going forward they will actually meet demand for games? That would be a good step in the right direction.
I really hate artificial rarity. But hey, you know who loves it? Scalper scumbags! They buy up all limited edition things using bots and other underhanded tactics so they can then flip those products at huge mark ups! And companies like Limited Run feed into that so much!
If, say, 10,000 people want a product and are willing to pay for it, unless there actually is some material shortage preventing it, sell the gosh darn product! Don't stop at some random number just cause.
It doesn't make your products exclusive, it just lets scalpers make bank.
Lucasfilm Classic Games is $15 on the US eshop. If Limited Run releases a physical copy, it will probably cost $30 (using Star Wars: Republic Commandos as reference).
Edit: I was wrong; it's going to be $35 plus shipping. I'll probably wait for a sale on the eshop; I need to stretch my budget.
When will people learn Limited Run is a terrible, self-centered company?
